Sir James Edward Campbell Kennon (1925-1991)

Joined Royal Navy in 1943, abandoning a foreign language degree course at Trinity College, Cambridge.
Built Horns Hill House, Webbs Green, Soberton in 1953
His last sea-going posting was as supply officer on HMS Kent in the 1960s, awarded OBE in 1963 New Year's Honours, and CBE in 1974
He served as Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Policy) 1977-1979, promoted to Rear-Admiral in 1978
Port Admiral, Rosyth from 1979-1981 and promoted to Vice-Admiral on 7 April 1981.
Appointed Chief of Fleet Support (1981-1983) covering the Falklands Conflict, one of few officers who had WWII experience.
Oversaw the run-down of Chatham Dockyard and received his knighthood just before his retirement in 1983.
Was chair of governors at his old school, Stowe and president of Royal Navy Benevolent Fund
Was a bellringer at St. Peter's Soberton

Rear Admiral William Lindsay Jackson (1889-1962)

Found on 1891 census, aged 1, living with parents and grandparents at The Lawns, Springfield, Chelmsford, Essex, with 7 domestic staff.

Sir Edward Grimwood Mears (1869-1963)

Was known as Grimwood Mears, lived locally, first wife is buried in St. Peter's Soberton, but he died in Ipswich where he lived with his second wife
