Born the second child of Henry and Lousia Mary Silvester. Baptised 6th September 1896 in Bishop's Waltham. At this time the family lived at Hoe Farm, Bishop's Waltham and his father was a farmer, where they still lived by the 1901 census.
The 1911 census lists the family at Peak Farm, East Meon, where he is working with his father on the farm.

He enlisted in Petersfield, but its unclear when. He became a Lance Corporal with Hampshire Regiment 15th (Hampshire Yeomanry) Bn. Died in WW1 in France or Flanders and is listed on Commonwealth War Graves Commission site and is burried at VOORMEZEELE ENCLOSURE NO.3, near Ypres, Belgium
