Born in Soberton as the youngest son of John and Mary, and the twin of Charles Twynam
In 1891 the family lived in East Hoe, but by 1901 they lived in the Manor house near St Peter's Church. He was educated at Cranleigh School in Surrey (with brother Charles) from 1905 to 1908 and is commemorated here on their website
Died at Battle of the Ancre, Somme, France in WW1 serving as Second Lieutenant with 11th Battalion Border Regiment.
He is commemorated at Waggon Road Cemetery, France.
